We are trying a new format and it is a work in progress.   A big shout out to PP Dave Bogue for the design. Take a look around at all the information and we welcome any input to improve it!
 
For those who did not get the news, our fellow Rotarian Doug Burch, passed away late last week.  There will be no funeral services or calling hours.  We will have a moment of silence at the Thursday meeting and an opportunity for any to share a story or thought about Doug.  He will be missed.
Oct 18thRobert Kent and the Opiod Crisis.  This was rescheduled from an earlier date. - General Counsel for the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (OASAS).  He is responsible for the statewide implementation of the Governor's Combat Addiction Campaign, the Federal Opiod Grant program and the Medicaid Redesign Team for opiod treatment.  He’s a Great Speaker.
Oct 25 –PP PDG John Mucha – Come learn about the Rotary Foundation.  NOTE:  MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE PARK THEATRE.
Thank you Rotarians:  Highway cleanup under Don Krebs great leadership had lots of help from PP PDG Fred Carvin, Russ O’Connor,  PP Jim Goodspeed, PP Steve Borgos and Dave Schwenker.  And we can’t forget our friend Stu Don’s friend who enjoys helping his fellow Rotarians.
Saturday we had a large crew help to clean out the “Greasy” dough trailer.  Thanks to Gene and Kerri L., John F., PP Dave Bogue, PP Kevin O., PP Bob  Rosoff, PP Donna F.,  David Bogue  Jr. and myself. 
Two new members proposed: 
Adam Feldman from Habitat for Humanity – sponsored by Charles Adams. Adam has attended several of our meetings and was our guest speaker recently.
Captain Leo Lloyd from The Salvation Army, sponsored by Charles Adams. Leo attended a meeting recently and looks forward to being a part of our organization.
Unless we hear of any objections within one week, we will proceed with inducting them both.
 
District Foundation Event – Thursday November 8th.  Glens Sanders in Scotia.  More information can be found on the district website.  Please consider supporting this fundraising event for our RI Foundation.  A Large portion of your  ticket will go towards your foundation giving.
 
Saturday Suppers has returned!  This is a service project.  We gather at Christ united Methodist church downtown Glens Falls and serve dinner to those in need.  November 10th.  4:30-6:30pm You can sign up directly on the GF rotary club website. Check your calendar and give it a try!  Thank you PP Jim Goodspeed for organizing
 
Habitat for Humanity – Saturday November 10th.  9am till 3pm.  We need 10 volunteers and no skills are required.  Please consider helping us.  Thanks to Tim for organizing.  Sign up on our website.
 
RLI – Rotary Leadership Institute - October 20th.  FREE – your GF rotary club will pay your entry fee.  SUNY School of Public Health Rensselaer.  See Tim Bechard or Charles Adams for more info.  To register you can go directly to the District 7190 website.  This is a great way to learn about the big picture of Rotary.
How about some Bulldog Pride – Our very own Gordon Woodworth is being inducted in the 2018 Hall of Fame.  Come celebrate with Gordon.  Saturday October 20th 6:00pm at the Queensbury Hotel.  $30 tickets are available at the school admin center on Bluebird Road South Glens Falls.   Autographs will be taken at lunch meetings…….
