This week our exchange student Henrique will tell us about his year so far in our neck of the woods!  Maybe he will share a little bit about his family back home as well.

Fishing derby was NOT a washout – We had about 75 kids come and fish with us.  The rain held out although it was a bit chilly.  Thanks to all who came to help.  We especially appreciate our rotary friend Stu who came to help as he does each year.  He weighs and measures the fish.  Although he is not a Rotarian, he is a friend we can count on.  Special thanks to Tim Bartlett for his first year chairing the event – following in the footsteps of Don Krebs who has chaired it for many years.

We are selling Fried Dough the following two dates:  May 11 and May 18.  Signup is available for May 11 for Jenkinsville Mountain Mayhem Soccer Tournament.  Please consider helping out!  We need many hands on deck and this is a super fun event.  May 18 is the Petfest in City Park.  The Interact club of Glens Falls High School will be helping with this event.  But we still need a few more hands on deck.

Birthday Week is being celebrated this Thursday.  Bring your check in the amount of your years on this planet.  Make the checks out to……Glens Falls Rotary Foundation.  NOT Scotia Rotary Foundation!

PAT’S PIGS are retiring to pasture…not the meat market!  Most have lost their “bottoms” and it’s time for change.  If you are a creative person and have a new idea on how to collect for our Library Book program, please come chat with me.  This could be a fun simple project for one lucky Rotarian.

Don’t forget – PP Art Norton would probably love visitors and cards while he is at The Warren Center recuperating.  He will be back with us before you know it.

Winter Raptor Fest is May 18 and 19 at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Saving land and birds for people – sponsored by the Friends of the IBA

Our club now has an Opiod Task Force Committee under the leadership of co-Chairs PP Barb Sweet and PP Jim Goodspeed.  Please stay tuned for more details on how you can get involved.

Saturday June 8th the Glens Falls Hospital will be sponsoring an Aloha Family 5k and 1-mile fun walk.  You can see Cindy Sherwood for more details and check out www.runsignup.com/gfh5k to register.

Thanks, and see you all this Thursday.
The end!
"Be the Inspiration!"
