Rotary Club of Glens Falls To Award High School Scholarships for 2013
Rotarians know that many of our local high school students selflessly provide community service to local organizations and causes. To salute those students, several years ago the Rotary Club of Glens Falls created a scholarship program for graduating seniors from Glens Falls and Queensbury High Schools.
This year $5,000 of scholarship assistance will be available to qualified, deserving graduating seniors, in an amount up to $2,500 per student. The awards may be given to students from one or both schools.
Eligibility for the scholarships requires outstanding community service and at least a minimum of a B grade average, which must be verified in writing by the student’s Guidance Counselor. The scholarship awards are designed to recognize students who have gone “above and beyond” to serve their community, just as the Rotary motto requires "Service above Self." (Family members—i.e., children and grandchildren—of Glens Falls Rotarians are not eligible.)
The deadline for submitting applications to the Glens Falls Rotary is drawing near.
Applicants must complete the Scholarship application (typed) and send it via email to: David Kisselback, Scholarship Committee Chairman, at: email@example.com. Applications may be obtained from either the Glens Falls or Queensbury High School Guidance Department, or they may be downloaded from the Glens Falls Rotary Club website (www.glensfallsrotary.org) by selecting the following links:

Completed applications must be emailed no later than March 15, 2013. Please do NOT submit completed applications to the Rotary web site.
All semi-final applicants will be asked to meet with a review committee of Rotary Club members prior to the final selection. Winners will be announced before or during the month of May. Awards will be presented at a Rotary lunch meeting either in May or June.
