Welcome to the Glens Falls Rotary! Our club was founded in 1922 and it continues to represent the highest ideals through its service-oriented programs both at home and abroad. Our club meets every Thursday at twelve fifteen, at the Ramada Inn, 1 Abby Lane, Queensbury (Northway exit 19) and offers our members (128) and guests the highest level of spirit, fellowship and opportunity for community service. Please see the directions to our meeting place below.
Our club is active in world community service projects around the globe. For example, we have been active for many years in the Youth Exchange Program in which we host incoming high school students from foreign lands and sponsor outbound students from our area who represent our club and district via residence in other countries around the world. Visit our Youth Exchange area here in our web site to learn more about the students we are sponsoring this year.
Also, in February 2008 we announced the formation of a new Community Service Scholarship to be given annually to deserving senior graduates of Glens Falls and Queensbury high schools. We are pleased to be offering scholarships again this year for the 2009 graduates. To learn more or to apply, go to the Headlines page in our Welcome area.
We are also very proud of the work that is being done by our members to help save children’s lives in third world countries. In the past three years our club has raised over $57,000 and invested also with human resources to assist the people of Haiti, Honduras, and Guatemala bring clean water to thousands of families in these countries. If you would like to help or seek more information on these humanitarian efforts and many other projects we undertake in the local community, please visit our Water Walk pages to find useful information and sources of help.
Please be sure to visit our “Headlines” pages under the Welcome area and our Member Showcase area. We are a very active club and we are proud of the work done by many of our members to enhance the lives of so many people in our community and around the world. It is in this are of our website that we highlight the achievements and awards of the club and many of our members.
