Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort - What a great reponse we had for supporting the Hurricane Dorian Relief! So far we have collected $878 and more coming.  Thank you, thank you, thank you! Truly a Rotarian Effort!  Its not too late to help with a donation.  Any checks should be made out to the Glens Falls Rotary Foundation with a memo for Hurricane Dorian Relief.  John Fitzgerald will be visiting a Miami Florida club this week and will give them an update.

Membership Dues - We currently have 95 members including 5 honorary (who are not required to pay dues).  Our 2019-2020 budget year began July 1, 2019.  As of today, we have 65 out of 90 members who have paid their dues.  We appreciate their promptness!  If you are one the 25 members who had not yet paid your dues or if you are not sure if your dues have been paid, please contact Brian Corcoran, Kim Bren, or Tim Bechard as soon as possible.  A portion of your membership dues goes to Rotary International and a portion to the District. These have been or will be paid shortly on your behalf, so it is important that you are up to date with your membership dues. Your cooperation will be greatly appreciated.

Program of September 12th - Dr. Kathy Braico, Medical Director of HH Ranch gave us an excellent presentation of her visit this past January to Bangladesh to train the trainers for how to better manage child birth.  The majority of children born in this country have a midwife attending the birth without the assistance of a doctor or fancy medical facilities.  She displayed the many training aids used to better educate how to prevent premature deaths with infants.  Since she has part of this effort over the past few years, the mortality rate of newborn infants has declined by 50%. The training aids, her trip to Bangladesh, and medical equipment used during child birth were made possible through funds provide by Rotary, particulary our Granville club.

The Warm the Children Program needs help with as the person who has coordinated this effort at the Post Star can no longer do this effort.  Dave Douge is the chair of this committee and is seeking help to ensure a successful program this year.  Anyone interested should contact him to determine what areas are in need of help.
