Glens Falls Rotary Fishing Derby 2010
If you love fishing, or even if you don't, you must love to watch the joy on the face of kids when they catch a fish. For 20 plus years Bruce Lundgren and his fellow Rotarians, together with the City of Glens Falls, have hosted an annual Fishing Derby in the pond at Crandall Park. By now you have heard that the Fishing Derby was another huge success this year. Prizes were awarded for all sorts of fishing expertise such the longest fish, the heaviest, the smallest, and even the prettiest fish (just kidding!) Everyone knows fish aren't pretty, just slippery! But maybe that will be a category for next year!
Kids of all ages not only went home with a trophy fish but a special award of a fishing pole, tackle box, or an award from a variety of other useful fishing sport equipment.The weather cooperated and Bruce Lundgren and his team provided another outstanding event for the kids of our community. The City of Glens Falls did a wonderful job of stocking and preparing the venue for the big outing. Mark Wescott, one member of Bruce's team, was busy taking photos and videos to capture the "behind the scenes" color for the day and he has made them available for all of us to see and enjoy.
